#2 - I keep getting stuck on "illegal" in illegal alien.

This should not be a conservative/liberal or Repub/Dem issue.  It's a legal issue.  If it's the law then enforce it.  Even if that means creating laws that make it less desirable for illegals to function in the US.   Everyone acts like it's a human rights violation to enforce the law and/or create laws that identify or exempt illegals from benefits that come with being a US citizen.  Again, if the people of the US think the law is wrong then change it, if not, enforce it

I think we're framing the discussion all wrong.  There are legal ways to come to the US.  I know several people that have done it legally.  It's not convenient, it's not necessarily easy, but it is the law.  If the law is wrong then change it.  If not, then enforce it.

I completely understand the human impact of immigration and  I'm not saying this is easy.  But I can't get past the "illegal" in "illegal alien".

Someone help me out here.

P.S.  if you think I'm a conservative whack-job then see post #1 where I tick off conservative whack-jobs by asking why the Republican party was hijacked by the conservative.
